Station 66: (Bring your appetite for fruits, veggies, ice-cream, & donuts!)

Today, we ventured out to a new place for us: Station 66, just south of Battle Creek, Michigan.  http://station66bc.com/  This was our first time discovering this beautiful little shop!

The store offers good quality, locally grown produce (unfortunately, we just missed the strawberries).  We picked up some green beans and very robust blueberries.  The employees are incredibly friendly, quick, and professional.  The store is very clean and tidy.

Station 66 offers delicious, Michigan-made ice-cream.  The husband and I tried the chocolate and moose tracks ice-cream.  I also sampled the raspberry cheesecake-- which was extraordinary.  They also offer fresh and amazing donuts.  We tried the apple donuts-- but they also had great looking cherry donuts, too.

They offer shelves of decadent honeys, pepper-jelly, hot sauces, BBQ sauces (such as cherry-BBQ!), and other yummy delicacies.

The following photo is one of my personal favorites:  (Nearly all) glass pop-bottles-- of course, a cooler filled with soda-pop covered with ice and ready to drink!

However, it isn't so much about the pop, the donuts, ice-cream, or the shop-- it is about remembering another time.  A time to sit and talk with friends and family, that reminds us of a time before cell phones and video games, back to a time that seemed to be just a little slower.  Maybe, just maybe, a reminder of times that were a little bit easier to enjoy.  That's what Station 66 means to us-- a place to relax, shop local, and enjoy, what some people might call, an "old fashioned good time."  When we went, we saw friends and family, sitting around tables, with glass pop-bottles, talking over what team the local baseball team just beat.

(We highly recommend trying the "Route Beer", and the Nehi Orange Soda.  Both were very good!)

Station 66 also offers candles, some home-made wares, kettle corn, Michigan-made maple syrup, coffees, dips, and honeys, and is all around a cute place to visit.

All-in-all, this is a great place to be.  Great customer service, fresh and delicious ice-cream and fresh donuts (which are very hard to find), and a relaxing and historical atmosphere.  Harking back to time not so long ago, it brings back some of those good ol' times, all while allowing you the convenience of easily working it into your schedule.  Don't let the size fool you, it is well worth the stop!  We highly recommend it.  It will put a smile on your face!  Please stop by and visit Station 66, and keep "Living Michigan," everyone!
